Generative AI Tech Stack Evolution

We enter an era marked by rapid advancements and unprecedented integration of artificial intelligence in over IT ecosystem.

At the heart of this evolution lies a sophisticated layering of technological components, each playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI applications.

As outlined by Accenture in the guide ‘A new era of generative AI for everyone’ 5 layers of technology stack.

Applications: The realm of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) is expanding into a more user-centric era. Cloud APIs and embedded AI capabilities will make these technologies more accessible and customizable, enabling seamless integration into various applications and allowing users to tailor models to their unique datasets and objectives.

Fine-tuning: The art of fine-tuning models is evolving into a critical discipline that bridges technology with diverse fields such as software engineering, cognitive psychology, linguistics, and user-experience design, reflecting the growing complexity and interdisciplinary nature of AI applications.

Foundation Models: As the marketplace for foundation models grows, we'll see a surge in model variety and sophistication. Next-generation models will prioritize a balance of scale, interpretability, and adaptive performance, meeting the needs of a broader array of applications.

Data: The journey towards a mature data lifecycle is becoming essential for leveraging AI. Mastery over data architecture, innovative data types, and the handling of large-scale datasets will be key. Future data platforms are expected to enhance feature extraction and analysis capabilities, empowering more sophisticated AI models.

Infrastructure: The backbone of Generative AI is its infrastructure. Sustainable cloud solutions will be pivotal, focusing on managing operational costs and reducing carbon footprints. The modernization of data centers, along with advances in chip architecture and algorithm efficiency, will form the cornerstone of next-gen AI infrastructure.
